Chris has been teaching since 2009 either in a fishery management guise or in Angling to Adults and Children alike wanting to participate in this wonderful past-time. My Love for this has always shone through getting my qualifications to teach angling coaching and conducting tuition days at my fisheries for a number of years. I have always enjoyed the thrill of the chase in angling and imparting my knowledge with other people is something that I found came very naturally, following participation in many junior and adult events though 2012 till now.
The self-satisfaction from helping people to catch their first fish, their first of a species or their first 20lb carp, is marvellous, I always get a sense of pride seeing my past clients coming back to fish lakes years later fully proficient at catching and confident in their approach. I have taught children from as young as 5 to adults of 80 years old varying arts of angling. We don’t just offer carp tuition we can cater for beginners who have never picked up a rod with mini coarse species such as roach in both lakes and rivers, to carp fishing, fly fishing including predator angling in the depths of winter for the experienced angler.
I’ve been doing tutorials since 2009 but in 2024 I have decided to make this something I can offer more readily to the masses as I have many of my own fisheries at my disposal now offering a plethora of angling situations to encounter and species to fish for and with the demand for such services from myself having accelerated in recent years it seems fishing has become a sport many are looking to take up in our fast paced instant world.
I have worked since the beginning with hundreds of clients both on a 1 to 1 basis through to group bookings exclusively on lakes. This could be both in the UK or Abroad on an array of venues should you so wish. Trips to Europe have been a huge success and something now I can do more of with a multitude of venues at my disposal from past client lakes and more recently by working closely with booking agents such as Swimbooker.
The amount of personal records I have broken with clients over the years have been phenomenal and always gives me immense pleasure, aswell as people hooking and landing their first fish, all of these occasions have been captured expertly with cameras to look back on as poignant moments etched in a lifetime of memories.
The Actual planned sessions are tailored to each person or a groups individual requirements. Venue choice amongst the many 1000s either in the UK or Abroad is made to ensure it is the right one for the client and together, we work through all of the things on the client’s potential list as well as the inevitable new topics that arise as the session unfolds. Invariably, priority is my clients needs and I strive to ensure that they always go away fully equipped with as much information and skill set I can impart in our session. I take my job VERY seriously and will endeavour to make you feel you have had value for money while ensuring that you enjoy a session to remember!
At the start of the session, we locate the fish together and the client is ALWAYS put on the fish. Additionally, I only get my own rods out if there is time and if the client is fully settled at the end of the day. Usually I do fish and this is what the client also prefers as all my customers want to see how I fish as well, but I reiterate, this is only once I have done my days work!
So, if you are thinking of booking, don’t be nervous! I have worked with anglers of all abilities - it doesn’t matter if you are worried about your casting or even your rigs, there is plenty to learn in angling and a lifetime of fishing to explore.
SO WHAT DOES A TUTORIAL INCLUDE?
We don’t just offer carp tuition we can cater for beginners who have never picked up a rod with mini coarse species such as roach, rudd in both lakes and rivers, fly fishing, carp fishing at all levels, to predator angling in the depths of winter for the experienced angler. If you fill out the contact form questions for any specific requirements for the tutorial I will be happy to discuss these prior to the session and create a plan to follow. I like to have an idea on what your looking to learn so I can structure the session and so we will closely follow a plan to maximise our time. I am a specialist in watercraft with many years’ worth of lake based knowledge in finding and locating fish the key fundamental to catching and through that observation bait application, nutrition and margin fishing at close quarters has become a staple part of my own fishing, although I have very good knowledge in all aspects of carp angling having fished for so long with some of the country’s finest carp anglers on most lakes I have run or worked on.
All bait is included as well as all terminal tackle that may be used during our session. The ticket price to venues is also included (subject to arrangement) but I can let you know beforehand depending on where we arrange to meet.
Your session will either be 12hr or 24-hour session+ and will be tailored to suit the needs of the client, but generally will include all aspects of successful carp fishing, such as: for instance a carp session is usually understanding carp, watercraft, tactical considerations, casting, feature finding, fish safety and care, baiting, end tackle, bait, stalking, surface fishing, zig fishing, and bait boat carping (including the use of a boat with echo sounder). My tutorials suit all manner of anglers; from beginner to experienced. I have been fishing for nearly 30 years and so have a lot of knowledge to share. My ultimate goal is to make you a more competent, confident angler so that you can go away and catch fish consistently on your own.
We will target the banks of CMCS Lakes; these fisheries provide everything we could possibly need. We have several lakes to choose from, depending on your needs. So whether you’re looking to beat a PB, catch your first double or 20, want to learn the art of stalking or surface fishing, or simply require a spodding masterclass, there’s a water to suit.
Also, photos during the day will also be taken as well as any catch pictures although I am flexible with which day of the week a tutorial can be booked, sessions will run for 12 or 24 hours from the start.
Price for a UK session is
£200 for 12hrs per person £400 for 2 people
£300 for 24 hours per person £600 for 2 people

All bookings require a deposit which is non-refundable if a cancellation occurs. If a rescheduled booking date can be arranged the deposit will be saved.
These prices will include travel ontop if travelling to a venue of your choice, there will be no charge if fishing a CMCS Venue. These prices are year round.
Whilst I can’t guarantee clients will catch during a tutorial, I can guarantee they will learn plenty from my simple and effective angling approach. Anyone interested in booking a tutorial should provide some details below.
Accreditation
Chris has completed the level 1 coaching course organised by Angling development board which officially qualifies him as an angling coach. As a result of this accreditation chris is able to offer public liability insurance and has passed an enhanced CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check.

Booking policy
Once a booking is made you may reschedule up to 5 days before the session start time. After that no changes can be made, unless extreme weather conditions prevent the session from going ahead. We are unable to offer refunds on any booking.

Particular rods and reels are usually necessary venue dependant as obvious long range angling requires a larger set up but this can be spoken about prior to booking.
